About our Early Years Provision

Welcome to Saxon Way Early Years provision, we have now changed from full day care to offer sessional care for 2 and 3 year old funded children and provide sessions from 8.40a.m. - 11.40a.m. and 12.15p.m. - 3.15p.m. Monday to Friday.

The setting is inspected and regulated by Ofsted. The inspectors have the authority to enter and inspect without any prior notice to ensure that the service provided meets the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).  Parents / carers will always be informed of any Ofsted visits and a copy of the report will be sent to each parent / carer.

The staff team is comprised of

  • Manager – Kristine Padmore
  • Deputy Manager – Kim
  • Senior Early Years Practitioner – Danielle
  • Early Years Practitioners - Catherine, Dea, Kirsty, Sam

Key person approach

Each child and family is allocated their own key person who will liaise with parents / carers to provide detailed information on your child and their development. The provision closes for one day, three times a year so appointments can be made to discuss your child’s individual needs and progress.

Your child's day

It is important that the children’s day is planned and their age and stage of development is paramount to our planning. The setting displays plans and information about what children will be doing, we use lots of photographs as part of these displays so that parents / carers can also see what their child or children have been doing.

The plans and displays are easily accessible to parents and carers and we encourage our parents and carers to have a look at what is happening and welcome any ideas or suggestions you may have to help enrich our environment or children’s day.

All the equipment and toys are of high quality and children spend their time exploring their environment with the help and guidance of their key people.

Children have access to our outside area daily and there are adjacent bathrooms/ nappy changing facilities available.

Settling in

Children starting at the nursery need time to come to terms with a new environment, new routines and new people. All children are helped by a gentle introduction and the child’s parent / carer are asked to liaise with the Deputy Manager and the key person to support their child in the nursery as they adjust. Once you are offered a nursery place, settling in arrangements will be discussed with you and tailored to your child’s individual needs. We recognise that some children settle into nursery very quickly / easily whilst for others it may take longer and be more difficult. If you do have any concerns or worries at this time, please speak to your key person or Deputy Manager.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child to Saxon Way, we hope you and they will have many happy times here.
